In Boscawen, New Hampshire, a farmer needed to connect his new home to the water main located across
Route 3. He investigated HDD to avoid the expense, extensive permits, and traffic delays that would
be required to open cut the road. Martin set the rig on the side of the road and began a 100-foot
bore through sandy soil that crossed Route 3, traveled across a tree line, and around power, sewer,
and water mains under the road
