Mr. Jeffery Martin
President
Jeff,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your company for the excellent performance on the Nantucket Island Submarine Cable
Project. The project called for two directionally bored 12-inch HDPE conduits installed from the inshore manholes out to the inter-tidal zone.
These conduits provided the shore landing for a 27-mile submarine power cable between Hyannis and Nantucket.
The project owner, National Grid, specified a rigid standard for the directional drill contractor's performance capabilities and environmental
standards. The project also had very stringent environmental regulatory requirements from the Army Corps of Engineers, Massachusetts DEP, and
several local agencies and commissions. As construction began, all eyes were on the conduit work and the sensitive beach areas.
Henniker Directional Drilling arrived on site with first class equipment and crews. Your capabilities were quickly demonstrated as you turned
the project's biggest liability into the project's biggest success. Pirelli was able to begin cable installation on time and with confidence
that the project had bee kicked off to a good start.
Pirelli has used many directional-boring companies worldwide for submarine cable work. It was a real pleasure to work with a company with
your high standards. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you again and will not hesitate to recommend Henniker Directional
Drilling as a preferred contractor.
Thanks and regards,
Joe Gannon
